My favorite beauty products at the moment range from makeup to skincare to hair care. My first career was as a makeup artist starting in 2006, I also went to school to become an esthetician. Since then I’ve been obsessed with beauty products, ingredients, and sharing my favorite products honestly. Here are my January 2023 Beauty Picks.
For the most part, I tend to wear nude lip colors, if you look at my collection of lipsticks and lip liners they are all pinkish, mauve, and close variations to my natural lip color. I always have a red for special occasions or if I’m feeling like changing it up but on a day to day I’m a nudes girl. So when I came across Alamar Cosmetics which is Latina owned I wanted to find a staple nude liner. I ordered Bon Bon via Shop Latinx along with a few other items. Nothing feels better than purchasing products that are aligned with my values. Since I got it, it’s been on heavy daily rotation.
I had always heard other women raving about dry shampoo and never really had a good experience. They always left my hair white even after tons of brushing. If they had color in them it would bleed if I started sweating. There was always something that didn’t feel quite right. I always felt like someone knew a secret that I didn’t. So after tons of Youtube and Tik Tok research I came across Redken Dry Shampoo. Which is higher priced than what’s on the market but if it worked, I knew I would have an ally. So I ordered my first bottle and finally found a dry shampoo I could stand by! Personally, I like to spray it on my hair the night before so it can soak up the oils while I sleep. When I wake up I do a very minimal hair brush and I’m good to go. This is one my Amazon Subscribe and Save so I don’t ever run out.
As a Millenial I know we’re starting to look into more skin care options for anti-aging that are semi-permanent. I’m starting to have more conversations about botox, peels, lasers, and procedures. Instagram and Tik Tok have been full of injectors showing before and after videos as well as educating on industry standards.
For me, I have been following accounts like these for years and never quite felt like there was an injector who had a more natural hand and I almost never came across injectors of color. So when I found Vanessa Lee on Tik Tok I knew I had found my people. I found her company The Things We Do on IG and signed up for her newsletter.
What I love about The Things We Do is that they care about their reputation. I have yet to see an overfilled lip or cheek. Results are very natural looking and accentuate your natural features. If your looking to get started on skincare procedures I would recommend going now that we’re on the tail end of winter and the sun isn”t out.
